Entourage - Season 1

Entourage is an American comedy-drama television series created for HBO by Doug Ellin, who also serves as an executive producer along with Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Dennis Biggs, Rob Weiss and Ally Musika. The series, loosely based on Wahlberg's own experiences of the film industry, follows Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier), a New York born actor living in Los Angeles as he struggles with the ups and downs of a career in Hollywood. He is aided, and often hindered, by his entourage, which consists of his half-brother and struggling actor Johnny "Drama" Chase (Kevin Dillon), his childhood friend and manager Eric "E" Murphy (Kevin Connolly), his ruthless agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) and his other long-time friend Turtle (Jerry Ferrara).

Entourage - Season 1

Entourage premiered on HBO on July 18, 2004, and aired its final episode on September 11, 2011. A total of 96 episodes were aired over eight seasons. On June 3, 2015, a feature-length film of the same name was released by Warner Bros. Pictures, and continued the narrative following the series finale.

This first season hurtles through Vinces early days as a famous face, seeing the guys face a bad review in Variety and decide whether to commit to a Die Hard In Disneyland project that Colin Farrells eyeing. The Hollywood inside-jokes come thick and fast, many delivered by self-spoofing stars (the Gary Busey episode, Busey And The Beach, is a doozy, while Val Kilmer rocks out as the ultimate stoner).

The debut season starts with a bang - the premiere of Chase's latest (fictional) movie Head On, co-starring Jessica Alba, whilst introducing the cast of characters, and providing a taste of the heady world of the young superstar.

The first season is almost totally bereft of the 'finding its feet' issues which often plague new series, proving that Entourage was thoroughly developed well before it premiered in 2004. Whilst the show twists and turns over the next seven seasons, with characters and story arcs that might stretch the friendship, returning to the first season of Entourage has proved to be a real joy. This Blu-ray remastering effort brings new found contemporary relevance to a show that has hardly aged and will be sure to introduce a new generation of fans.

Your best friend's star is rising in Hollywood, and there's only one thing to do: join his entourage. Meet Eric, Turtle and Johnny Drama: three guys from Queens dedicated to helping their film-star buddy Vince Chase navigate the absurdities of modern-day Hollywood--where sex, parties and super-agents rule. Welcome to 'Entourage': the hit HBO comedy series that draws on the experiences of industry insiders to illustrate the heady excesses of today's celebrity lifestyle and the difficulty of finding genuine relationships and artistic fulfillment. In Season One, Vince begins living it up in the wake of his latest hit. Meanwhile, he and the boys clash with their super-agent Ari (who thinks Vince needs a better agent than Eric), attend a slew of wild parties and decide on Vince's next starring role: an independent film set in Queens and directed by a loose cannon named Billy Walsh.
